For such a time as this...

The time has come my dear friends! It's time to Poddy!

Honestly, I've been considering it for quite some time, but really didn't know where to start and didn't want to invest much (or at all). A month or so ago, my friend Keturah suggested a bunch of us moms locally who seem to be on the same page when it comes to morals, values, faith and politics, start a podcast discussing the struggles of raising kids during these times. So, as that podcast will be in the making as well, I decided now was also the time I finally get my podcast up and running for BlueRose Wellness. In addition to faith, parenting, politics and values, my podcast will also include all facets of health and how we make godly health choices in the face of a warp speeding changing government. A podcast on aging and dealing with health struggles and diagnoses. Losing weight, hormonal imbalances, special needs and children with other behavioral issues. Ya know, LIFE!!! Yes, I realise we have a plethora of podcasts to choose from on a gaggle of platforms at any given moment. Yet, I also know that even though there may be a TON of podcasts to choose from in one given topic, each and every person, duo, or team, has their own flair. I know I could choose from oodles of podcasts on Christian parenting, homeschooling, health and politics, but it's that certain edge, tenacity, spice, and humor that draws me in. A podcast to me is kind of like a journal of thoughts spoken into the microphone. (The FANTASTIC THING is that it's not live, so you can go back and "edit" as needed. Goodness knows, I can often "speak in zest" and then wish I would have said it differently (or not at all). Depending on which study you decide you believe, women tend to talk quite a bit more words in the average day than men. Of course this isn't an absolute given across the board, as there are surely some pretty chatty chaps out there and mums the word maidens, but as a whole, there is a reason why girls need coffee dates and wine nights with the ladies. We just have to get it out!

I don't know who will end up listening to our podcasts. In the end, it doesn't really matter, because if the Lord needs to use me in this way, He will. If not, I will just end up talking to myself which will still be incredibly therapeutic, and honestly no different than any other given day. Truly, it's a win-win either way!

I want everyone to know upfront, that my entire goal behind this podcast is to "seek justice, love mercy and to walk humbly with God." Micah 6:8. I think we are all (myself included) way to quick to assume the worst of someone's words when they don't seem to align with our beliefs. I make mistakes. I will continue to make mistakes. However, my intentions are never to "stir the pot" as I have heard a time or two before. Sometimes, speaking truth is just, well, sticky, unpleasant,or painful. Mark Twain is known for the quote "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't." I think of that quote so, so often as I muddle through this current world, where daily it seems another "impossibility" becomes a reality. I have said for quite some time now, that I feel like I am living on a set of the Truman Show. Unlike Truman however, we KNOW we are living one giant lie upon lie, day after day, yet we can't seem to stop it. I don't know if your brain puts you through as crazy of dreams as mine, but it's like those dreams where I am waitressing again , and have like 20 tables and can't get to any of them! Those dreams where you are running, or more like TRYING to run away from a murderer, but your feet won't move! Is it just me? Am I the only one that has bizarro dreams?! I can't be the only one. Anyhow, the point being, this feels like that nightmare, yet every day is like the movie Groundhog's Day, and we keep waking up to the same, crazy, asinine, lunacy.

I've never thought of myself as any sort of "big deal." Not even close. But apparently, cancel culture did. I was kicked off Twitter after barely ever tweeting, and yet the one time I tweeted, "Trump 2020" (and yes, that is ALL it said), I was banned. (YES! It was BEFORE the election!) I have been sent multiple, harassing emails over the past year from fake accounts. (My cousin is a cop and she helped me figure this one out). I have been censored, hand slapped, and shadow banned for things like C.S. Lewis quotes and a factual event of Adolph Hitler. What's really sad, is that these people (Zuckerberg, Dorsey, etc) don't WANT your children to know true history. A friend of mine was substituting the other day for a 5th and 6th grade classroom. She was talking about the Civil War and slavery. A handful of these kids truly hadn't any clue about the Civil War and what slavery was! I AM NOT KIDDING!! So, are these the children of Antifa and BLM parents? Are these the parents whose voices are raised across all forms of media far and wide, while mine and the millions others like mine are being virtually gagged and bound? If this isn't concerning you all to a point of needing to "get off the bench" like Heidi St. John says and DO SOMETHING, than I am pretty sure you will probably be the one who just dies in a house fire....not because you didn't try to get out, but because you just laid in bed and hoped for the best. "Meh, I'm really tired....the firefighter will get me..." Firefighters, doctors, police officers and other professionals of care and rescue are not God. Not even close. Yet, even the Lord says, "Do not test the Lord your God."

It's time we stop making stupid people famous. This past week alone, six books from the incredibly gifted and beloved Dr. Seuss were banned, while Cardi B's song, "Wap," (no, I do not recommend you listen or search. Do NOT give these people anymore ATTENTION. It's FILTHY!), was at the top of the charts and considered a "women empowering" song! I saw a home video of a mother reading a book called, "The Gay, B, C's," to her maybe, 3 year old son. She was just so proud as he knew every word in the book, "B is for bi-sexual, T is for tran, X is for X, I is for inclusive.." and on and on......

Whatever is happening, we knew it was coming. It's just hard to see it play out. My podcast isn't so much about droning on and on about the crapola (Tim Hawkins approved Christian cuss word ;) ) engulfing us today, but more about, how can we as Christian conservatives, navigate through this with love and compassion, yet confront our brothers and sisters in sin and what God has to say about that. To give encouragement, that you are not alone. (This is the ONE time through out this mess I will say that in this circumstance, yes, we are indeed, "All in this together.") A place where we can then discuss SOLUTIONS to these issues, and when there are no solutions to be made, to bring the truth of Scripture full circle so that we rest in sweet peace as our head hits the pillow that night

We are all called to do something. My calling is different than yours. Our callings also change as we we continue to blow out more and more birthday candles. My calling at 30, was different than it was at 20, and my calling at now a week out from turning 42 (WAAAAAHHHHH), is different than it was at 30! Yet, through prayer, Scripture studying, advice from Christian friends, and that ever nagging nudge, (that doesn't seem to go away no matter what you do or how long you wait), your calling will be known. You can kick and scream and make excuses until the cows come home (as my mama would say), but you just can't run from the Father.

I hope you can tune in and listen! If it's not your cup of tea, no worries! However , there may be others you know that would benefit, and I would be ever so grateful if you would share!

As for the the title of this podcast? Well, I will just leave this portion of Scripture for you to meditate on. I pray you ALL, embrace your calling, get off the bench and be the hands and feet of our Lord....For such a time as this.....

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
